About Fox Chapel Area Adult Education
Established shortly after the completion of Fox Chapel Area High School in 1961, a group of community members, citizens who had been actively involved in other community affairs, were approached by district administrators and members of the district school board. Would it be possible to create an evening education program for district taxpayers so that district adults, not just students, could take advantage of the new facilities? The school board, administrative staff and community members agreed that it was a good idea.
- So in 1962 the Fox Chapel Area Adult Education Committee began its programming. Before long, the now-familiar red-print flyers began making their way to local resident mailboxes.
- Decades later, Fox Chapel Area Adult Education (FCAAE) remains true to our original mission as an outreach program of the Fox Chapel Area School District, one that is dedicated to providing enrichment classes to the community for a low tuition.
FCAAE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run by a volunteer board, and an Executive Director.
